Who We Are

The Center for Innovation Promotion and Research (CIPR) was founded in 2018 by Dr. Mary Hrachoohi Boghosian, who returned to Armenia after a distinguished career in the United States. With over 16 years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and The Aerospace Corporation in California, Dr. Boghosian brought a wealth of experience in cutting-edge space technology development, including contributions to over 50 flight missions and multimillion-dollar proposals for missions to the Moon and Mars.
In 2022, she established CIPR’s Aerospace Center to advance Armenia’s role in space exploration by developing innovative technologies through education, research, and capacity building. Dr. Boghosian played a lead engineering role in NASA missions such as Juno (to Jupiter) and CloudSat (for Earth observation), and pioneered the first CubeSat cost estimation methodology, later adopted and improved by NASA centers.
At CIPR, we are a passionate team of professionals from diverse fields—including software engineering, orbital mechanics, aerospace design, and beyond. United by a shared vision, we work together on cutting-edge space-related projects that drive innovation and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Our multidisciplinary approach allows us to develop advanced technologies and solutions that move us closer to our mission:
to promote the development of space engineering in Armenia by offering innovative technologies, future-oriented projects and educational opportunities that will transform the country’s scientific and technical sector and increase its international reputation.
• To include the development of small artificial satellites in the school curricula of the Republic of Armenia.
• To create local professional potential within the company by continuously providing space engineering education.
• To develop research work (R&D) in the field of space engineering.
• Cooperation with local and international organizations in the field.
• To attract investments.

Our services and products are designed for the Republic of Armenia’s domestic and international markets.

The company’s vision is to become a leading aerospace company in the Republic of Armenia, building space systems through versatile engineering capabilities. To lead and shape the future of space engineering in Armenia, becoming a globally competitive and innovative solutions provider.
Positioned uniquely in Armenia’s growing space ecosystem, CIPR specializes in very small satellite development, including CubeSats and PicoSats, and offers end-to-end capabilities: from education and design to manufacturing and satellite communication via ground stations.
Since 2020, CIPR has trained over 100 specialists in space engineering, and developed Armenia’s first comprehensive Space 1.0 Program—featuring custom curricula, ground stations, and data software.
CIPR has delivered a wide range of specialized academic and professional programs, including:

• “Systems Engineering and Satellite Cost Assessment” courses
• “AI and Space Technology” training at the French University in Armenia
• “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” at the American University of Armenia
• Satellite engineering courses at Yerevan State University and the National Polytechnic University of Armenia
• Master’s programs in collaboration with the Engineering Association
• USAID-backed “Introduction to Satellite Technologies” courses with the Enterprise Incubator Foundation

CIPR has formed key partnerships with institutions such as Byurakan Observatory, The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of The Republic of Armenia (MESCS), and several leading universities—cementing its role as Armenia’s premier center for space education, research, and innovation.
