Artemis II: Humanity Back in Deep Space
Artemis II is currently in progress. Launched by NASA in early April 2026, the mission sent astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft using the Space Launch System toward the Moon. It is the first human mission beyond low Earth orbit since the Apollo missions.
Right now, the crew is traveling around the Moon on a flyby trajectory. They have already left Earth’s orbit and are moving through deep space, reaching distances farther than any human mission in decades. The mission is testing real conditions: navigation, communication delays, and how systems perform with astronauts onboard.
For CIPR Aerospace, the outcome of Artemis II reinforces a clear direction for the industry: future space exploration will rely heavily on robust simulation, autonomous systems, and tightly integrated engineering solutions—a milestone that shows innovation is about building strong systems to take us further into space.
